South-Doyle High School classmates of Daevon Montez Saint-Germain , the 18-year-old who was shot and killed Jan. 3 by Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies, gathered Jan. 7 to remember their friend and demand the release of any police videos of the encounter .
Logan Butler was best friends and soon-to-be business partners with Saint-Germain.
“I originally moved here from Massachusetts about two years ago and Daevon was one of the first people I had ever spoken to. He was just so outgoing and he was the only person that listened to what I had to say,” said Butler, a 17-year-old who lives in Seymour. “We skipped school to buy this box truck and after he graduated we were going to go into business. Then the police came and just shot him out of absolutely nowhere. Just shocking.”
Jessica Thompson, 40, from Seymour, brought her children to remember the teen they had gotten to know over the past year. They saw him at work and around town at car shows.
“Yep, he worked at Taco Bell. He made the best iced coffees I ever had at Taco Bell and his friend, Alex, would try to make it, and I was like no, I need Daevon’s coffee,” she told Knox News.
