TOWNSEND, Tenn. — Nobody was hurt after two people were taken into custody Sunday following a police chase in the Townsend area, according to authorities.
A chief with the Townsend Police Department said Ronald J. Tarbett, 57, from Pigeon Forge, was taken into custody after Sevier County Police Department had a warrant out for him for carjacking, robbery and driving while revoked. An officer on patrol with TPD spotted the vehicle, which started the pursuit.
TPD said Tarbett stopped the vehicle on Cades Cove Road, where there was a short standoff. He was then removed from the car and taken into custody and charged with felony evading. A passenger in the vehicle was released from custody without charges…
