KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A dead dog was found with a bag tied around its head in a Knoxville parking lot Monday morning, prompting a suspected animal cruelty investigation, the Knoxville Police Department said.
Officers from Young-Williams Animal Center responded around 7 a.m. to NHC Healthcare, where they discovered the dead dog and a second dog that was alive and didn’t appear to be hurt in the parking lot. A second bag, similar to the one found on the dead dog, was also found, according to KPD.
The surviving dog was transported to YWAC for care. Animal center staff members searched the neighborhood but couldn’t find anyone who recognized the dogs or knew their owner, KPD said…
