Person sent to hospital with serious injuries after being trapped in vehicle following Knoxville wreck, authorities say

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A person had to be freed from their vehicle with serious injuries after a wreck at the intersection of Tazewell Pike and East Emory Road on Tuesday night, according to Rural Metro Fire.

Rural Metro said two vehicles were involved in the crash around 8:45 p.m., and the person who was freed was sent to the trauma care center in “what appeared to be serious condition.” Rural Metro also advised drivers to slow down at intersections because they are the number one location for car crashes.
