Car burglaries strike fear into Sevier County neighborhood

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Residents of the New Center neighborhood said they didn’t always feel the need to lock up their belongings until now. The quiet neighborhood in Sevierville is on edge after a string of burglaries have been reported in the area.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, five separate cases of vehicles being broken into have been reported to them in the last few days. Each of these reports come from the neighborhood behind New Center Elementary School in Sevierville.

“Last night, I was even afraid to get out of my car just to walk inside because I just felt my nerves. I’ve been on edge,” said Cierra Folino.
