Fire in East Knoxville apartment complex put out, KFD says

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Crews were on the scene of a fire at Spring Meadow Apartment Homes in East Knoxville, according to the Knoxville Fire Department.

According to a spokesperson with KFD, crews responded to the complex located just off Washington Pike. Images sent to WBIR showed flames coming from the roof of the complex, and KFD crews working the scene.

There were no injuries reported in the fire, with it taking around 40 minutes to put out, according to KFD. The department said the fire started in an upper-floor apartment, with the people in that unit able to get out safely. Eight units in total were affected by the fire, with 22 people, three dogs and two cats able to get out safely as well…
