City of Knoxville announces traffic changes for Smokies home games

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The city of Knoxville announced they are making adjustments to its game-day parking as the Knoxville Smokies play at Covenant Health Park.

Due to the large crowd on weekends, S. Central Street will remain closed to vehicles on Friday and Saturday night between Jackson and Willow avenues. The city said South Central will remain open to shoppers and pedestrians.

The city said new stop signs will be added at the intersection of South Central and Willow to keep the block safe. When the Knoxville Smokies host their home games, there will be traffic-control personnel stationed to slow drivers and help with crossing pedestrians…
