Check it out at the Blount County Public Library: Mini-Con is coming

This year’s Summer Reading Program theme at the Blount County Public Library is “Color Our World”—a call to read books, learn new things, and appreciate and create works of art of all sorts. We’ve seen a large number of patrons participating in our Summer Reading Challenge, including entire families, from the tiniest babies to the oldest adults.

Our final event is the perfect culmination of this year’s theme. Mini-Con is our friendly neighborhood comic convention, powered by local volunteers and the Blount County Friends of the Library. Once a year, we turn the library into a convention hall for a small but vibrant moment of creativity for the whole community.

Mini-Con reflects “Color Our World” in a very pure way—a colorful opportunity for colorful folks to meet up and share the colorful things they’re passionate about. You’ll have the chance to enter our cosplay contest, play an imaginative game of Dungeons & Dragons, browse the wares of local artists and authors, and enjoy the simple joy of being in a building filled with books and incredibly enthusiastic fans…
