Widely scattered showers & storms to start the week

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The unsettled weather the Tennessee Valley has been experiencing lately is expected to continue for the start of the new week. Widely scattered showers and storms are forecast to continue on Monday.

On Tuesday, a cold front is forecast to move through the region, supporting another chance of showers and storms. Behind this front, drier air moves in, allowing for more sunshine on Thursday and Friday.

Monday will start mainly dry, though a pop-up shower will be possible. The better chance for widely scattered rain and storms will come by midday and continue through the evening hours. Storms are forecast to remain sub-severe, but isolated strong storms will be possible.

Storms that develop on Monday and Tuesday will be capable of producing winds over 40 mph, frequent lightning, small hail, and locally heavy rain. If you have any outdoor plans, stay weather aware and be prepared for changing weather conditions.
