DA: Tellico Village woman’s parole denied again in attempted murder plot

LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole denied parole for a third time to a Tellico Village woman convicted in a plot to kill her mother, according to District Attorney General Russell Johnson.

Kimberly Hopkins claimed her mother asked her to take her life on Father’s Day weekend in 2018. She said her mother had long suffered verbal and emotional abuse from her father and wanted to die that specific weekend to send a message.

According to the DA, Hopkins had been estranged from her parents for years, so it was “highly unusual” that she would travel from Oregon to Tellico Village at her parents’ house unannounced…
