KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — In November, Knoxvillians will vote on a sales tax referendum.
The referendum allows the public to decide if they want to increase the local option sales tax by 1/2 cent.
Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon explained the tax would add a few extra cents to everyday items like toilet paper and t-shirts. According to an estimated chart by the city of Knoxville, a person making $30,000 a year could expect to pay $5 per month if the increase passes…
