We have a level 1/5 Severe Weather Risk in effect today in the Tennessee Valley. The greatest threats are gusty wind, frequent lightning, and torrential rain with some of the strongest storms. In the same fashion we have seen over and over this month, not all of us will see the storms. They will be hit or miss pop-ups. High temperatures today will rise to the mid-80s and will feel like the low to mid-90s.
Starting tomorrow and in fact, lasting through much of next week, plenty of sunshine is ours to keep. High temperatures will gradually return to the mid-90s by Friday and through the weekend. “Feels like” temperatures will rise to the low 100s.
Your Independence Day forecast couldn’t be better. Whether it’s morning coffee, a lunchtime BBQ, or fireworks after dark, conditions will stay clear overhead with dry skies for all.
Our next true chance for rain returns later next work-week…
