Knoxville couple accused of maintaining drug dwelling within 1,000 feet of school

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Court records said that the Knox County Sheriff’s Office found suspected fentanyl and items “consistent with fentanyl processing” in a home less than 1,000 feet from a school.

Lauren Michelle Adams and Richard Lavell Adams face charges including maintaining a dwelling for drug use and schedule I drugs in a drug-free zone. Their home is within 1,000 feet of Sarah Moore Green Elementary School.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and the Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at the Boyds Bridge Pike home Wednesday morning. Inside, they found 14 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, one gram of suspected fentanyl and guns, court records said.

According to court records, they also found items “consistent with fentanyl processing” including digital scales, sandwich baggies, culinary blends, vacuum-sealing equipment, drug-cutting agents and used storage bags with a powder residue…
