KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Zoo Knoxville is welcoming the newest addition to its Western lowland gorilla troop. Bella, a 10-year-old gorilla, joined the zoo in May and is now making her official debut as part of the group.
Bella is joining the zoo as part of a breeding recommendation through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan for Zoo Knoxville’s silverback male, Bantu.
Officials said she is now ready for breeding and they hope she and Bantu will aid in conservation efforts for their species…
