Anderson County educator named finalist for state Teacher of the Year award

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Department of Education has announced that two educators were named finalists for the state Teacher of the Year award.

Among the nine finalists are Chrissy Rose with Anderson County Schools and Allyson Rutherford with Bristol City Schools.

The following are the other seven finalists, which represent each of the eight Center of Regional Excellence (CORE) areas in the state and the Shelby County-Municipal area:

  • Collierville High School – Collierville Schools
  • Sarah Glenn
  • Austin Peay Elementary – Tipton County Schools
  • Caitlin Tucker
  • Sharon School – Weakley County Schools
  • Ginger Colvett
  • Poplar Grove Elementary School – Franklin Special School District
  • Jamie Bedingfield
  • Giles County High School – Giles County Schools
  • Dorian Loeffler
  • Dibrell Elementary School – Warren County Schools
  • Ashley Mosley
  • Jasper Elementary School – Marion County Schools

Finalists will have the opportunity to serve on the department’s Tennessee Teacher Advisory Council for the duration of the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years…
