Man charged with arson after house fire in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man was taken into custody and charged with arson after a house fire Monday morning, the Knoxville Fire Department said.

Roderick J. McAlpin, 42, faces one charge of felony arson.

Around 5:50 a.m., KFD responded to reports of a house fire on the 2400 block of Larkwood Lane. Investigators determined that the fire had been intentionally set and was related to a domestic situation, KFD said.

On Monday evening, KFD investigators and the Knoxville Police Department found McAlpin and took him into custody. He is detained at the Knox County Detention Facility as of Tuesday morning…
