DoorDash issuing refunds after thousands of users, drivers report outages

(NEXSTAR) – DoorDash has resumed service after thousands of customers and DoorDash employees (aka “Dashers”) reported outages with the company’s food-delivery app early on Wednesday morning.

“DoorDash is back up and running and people can now use the app as normal,” a spokesperson for DoorDash wrote in a statement shared with Nexstar.

DownDetector, an online outage tracker, began receiving reports of issues with the DoorDash app around 5 a.m. ET on Wednesday morning, with over 5,500 reports lodged at approximately 8 a.m. ET. Drivers and customers had also voiced complaints on social media, with some sharing screenshots of the error messages they received on their apps.

“Hey @DoorDash FIX YOUR DASHER APP IM TRYING TO EARLY MORNING GRIND AND THE APP IS DOWN,” one agitated employee wrote on X.

“Is anyone else having issues with the dasher app right now?” another asked, before describing the situation as “unreal.”…
