Knoxville City Council to look at developing near KAT routes as part of the city’s growth plan

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A surge in growth in the city is driving the Knoxville City Council to chart a 20-year plan to handle thousands of new arrivals. One piece of the plan calls for redevelopment along Knoxville Area Transit bus routes in the city.

Councilmembers will discuss the plan on Thursday, which calls for identifying areas along bus routes in the city that might be run down or are near a busy interstate.
