Knox County Juvenile Center Board of Directors holds first meeting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The new board of directors overseeing Knox County’s juvenile detention center held its first public meeting Thursday since being appointed last month.

The board was created in response to current juvenile detention center superintendent Richard L. Bean, for whom the center is named, announcing they he will retire in August.

11 commissioners toured the center before heading into the meeting, where they appointed their first officers and talked about what the future of the center will look like.
