A confrontation in Campbell County led to the assault of two deputies and the arrest of two men after a runaway juvenile was found safe on Thursday. According to the WVLT report, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office located the juvenile on Ivey Hollow Road, LaFollette, in the company of Dalton Clear, 22, and John Garner, 57.
The arrest turned violent when Clear reportedly became belligerent, a detail shared by all sources including WBIR. He is said to have kicked the patrol car windows and headbutted the cage inside the vehicle. As a result, deputies sought aid from the LaFollette Police Department during transit due to his aggressive behavior, launching a collaborative effort between the sheriff’s office and local police.
“Sheriff Barton thanks the LaFollette Police Department and the Jacksboro Police Department for their assistance during the incident,” the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office stated, as obtained by WVLT.
