KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Whataburger is preparing to make its debut in Knoxville, with three locations in the works. One of them — in the busy Turkey Creek area — is now under active construction.
The Texas-based burger chain plans to open restaurants in Powell, along Cumberland Avenue (known as the Strip), and at Turkey Creek. While opening dates have not yet been announced, construction activity at the Turkey Creek site signals progress.
The Turkey Creek Whataburger is located at 310 Wild Geese Road and will take over the former Steak ‘n Shake building, which closed in 2024. According to project documents, the site will be remodeled to include a drive-thru.
