Tennessee Highway Patrol announces upcoming sobriety checkpoints

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol has announced plans for several sobriety checkpoints that will take place next month in several East Tennessee counties.

Law enforcement agencies are legally required to publicly announce the dates and locations of any checkpoints. Troopers will conduct several checkpoints in August to detect impaired driving and ensure compliance with licensing, registration, and insurance requirements.
