SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Known to many as a dangerous road, the Tennessee Department of Transportation continues work on Chapman Highway to make improvements.
This well-traveled road connects Knox, Blount and Sevier counties together. Around 33,000 vehicles a day passed through the area, going between the three counties. Now this area getting an upgrade.
The Chapman Highway project is taking a one mile stretch of road from four lanes to five.
There’s a central turn lane being added to help with the back-ups and traffic flow between Highland View Drive and Hendron Chapel Road. Mark Nagi, spokesperson with TDOT said this will help improve safety and traffic flow on the road…
