Man found safe after Silver Alert in Sevier County

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A 70-year-old man was found safe after a Silver Alert, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation posted.

Richard Carper had been last seen at his home in Sevierville around 3:30 p.m. Monday, August 4. He was wearing a black shirt, light blue jeans, a brown and black belt and black tennis shoes. Carper was carrying a small black bag.

He wears glasses and has a tattoo of a motorcycle with wings on his upper right arm, as well as one of a skeleton face on his left arm, the TBI wrote. Officials believed he was on foot. The TBI said he is about 5’9″ weighting 170 pounds with blue eyes.

At 9:39 a.m. Tuesday, the TBI announced Carper had been found safe.
