KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — As families in Tennessee head back to school for the first year of the expanded universal school voucher program, the state Department of Education said they are nearing the end of notifying 20,000 students who received the scholarship.
“We are now in the final stages of awarding the remaining scholarships to applicants on the waitlist,” Maggie Hannan, Director of Communications for the Tennessee Department of Education, said in a statement. “All 20,000 available scholarships will be awarded for the 2025-26 school year.”
