KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Schaeffer Road is getting new safety improvements after 21-year-old Kylie Roberto, daughter of city council member Andrew Roberto, died in a crash on the road last year.
The family, joined by Knox County leaders honored her legacy and talked about how they hope these improvements will help prevent crashes.
Kylie’s stepmother, Sarah Roberto, said after her death they looked for ways to get engaged with the community that would honor her life and legacy. Having already created a foundation in her name, this road project is another step she said will help promote change, and make roads safer for future drivers.
