Moped driver injured in crash with Waste Connections truck in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A moped driver is in critical condition after a she was involved in a crash with a Waste Connections truck Wednesday morning, Knoxville Police said.

Around 7:30 a.m., the department asked drivers to avoid the area of Division Street at Cary Street as they worked to clear the scene of a serious crash, which happened just after 6 a.m. The area of that intersection is near the Knox County Juvenile Court and Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center.

Knoxville police asking for public’s help finding attempted murder suspect

Around noon, KPD said the crash involved a moped and a Waste Connections Truck.

The driver of the moped was taken to UT Medical Center. According to Knoxville Police, she is in critical condition and suffered life-threatening injuries.
