Since 2013 a state-funded, residential, addiction treatment program in Morgan County has demonstrated positive outcomes in preventing re-incarceration of nonviolent male felons recovering from substance abuse disorders. The yearlong program has provided the residents counseling, education to improve their life skills and ability to get a job and other services to help them become drug-free.
The successes and challenges of the Morgan County Residential Recovery Court (MCRRC) near Wartburg will be described on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church (FPCOR), 1051 Oak Ridge Turnpike. Light refreshments will be available.
Elizabeth Andrews, court director of MCRRC since 2023, will give a presentation on the purpose, history and operation of the program.
