Man Sentenced to 30 Years for 2020 Murder of His Mother
In a conclusion to a five-year legal battle, Shawn Tyler Willis, now 21, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of his mother. The sentence, which must be served at 100%, stems from a horrific crime committed when Willis was just 16 years old.
The investigation by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office revealed that in 2020, Willis became angry with his mother after she confiscated his cellphone.
