Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responds to reported drowning at Douglas Lake

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a drowning Sunday afternoon, JCSO said.

Around 4:30 p.m., emergency crews went to the Indian Creek area of Douglas Lake after receiving a report of someone drowning, JCSO said. The office told people to be aware of vehicles responding to the area.

A spokesperson with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said that crews are searching for a missing boater from a pontoon. TWRA is investigating.
