A rare summer cold front pushes into north Alabama this afternoon and that increases our chance of stronger storms across the area. The Storm Prediction Center has a portion of north Alabama under a *Level 1* MARGINAL RISK for severe storms this afternoon. The main threat will be damaging winds.
Futurecast shows storms moving from the north to south across the region later today. During the peak heating off the afternoon, we could see a handful of severe storms later today. Highs reach the lower to middle 90s before the storms move through.
