KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knox County government launched a new website for Operation Hero’s Hill, an initiative to give tiny houses to homeless veterans in the community.
During the first phase, the county intends to make 20 tiny homes, built by students from Knox County Schools’ Career and Technical Education Programs under the guidance of construction trade experts. The veterans will also have access to a community center with a computer lab and laundry facilities. The county plans to begin construction this month.
The county thanked D.R. Horton for donating all building supplies. The county is also accepting donations on its website.
