KNOXVILLE, Tenn — The Knoxville City Council approved an amendment that expands current restaurant and bar patio rules to businesses throughout the city.
The code previously applied exclusively to Downtown businesses. Currently, if a business within the Central Business District does not have outdoor space for a patio on their private property, the business is able to apply for use of the public right of way, sidewalks, for patio space.
