Knoxville officially has its first Whataburger.
The Texas-based fast food chain opened its inaugural Knoxville location on the morning of August 25 at 1830 Cumberland Avenue on the Strip, just a short walk from the University of Tennessee. The restaurant is located on the lower level of the TENN student apartments, in the same building as Raising Cane’s.
Fans lined up down the block to try the made-to-order burgers. Many wore Whataburger-branded shirts, socks, and hats to celebrate the milestone. This location marks not only Knoxville’s first Whataburger but also the first in all of East Tennessee…
