Community mourns loss of pastor struck and killed in Alcoa

ALCOA, Tenn. (WATE) — Family and friends are mourning the loss of an East Tennessee pastor who died after being struck by a semi-truck in Alcoa.

Rowland Buck, 61, died following the collision early Tuesday morning near the intersection of East Hunt Road and North Wright Road. He served as a pastor at St. Mark’s Global Methodist Church in Louisville.

Jason Rowe, a friend and fellow pastor, remembered the beloved 61-year-old in an interview with 6 News.

“When I heard of the death of my brother Rowland, it hurt my heart greatly,” Rowe said. “He’s been a piece of my life for a couple decades. When a piece of you is gone so quickly, it hurts kind of deep.”
