At 38 degrees, it’s the coldest Aug. 27 morning atop Mount LeConte since the National Weather Service started keeping records there in 1988.
High temperatures on the peak in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will only reach the 50s today, which is a delight for hikers looking for a break from Tennessee’s August heat.
