‘I feel very proud’ | Knox County 11-year-old junior journalist gets honor of opening renovated Taco Bell

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – After months on the story, junior journalist Holston Haun’s first big story is coming to a close. The 11-year-old has been keeping his community informed as a Taco Bell in Strawberry Plains was renovated. The restaurant had its grand opening Tuesday.

Holston visited the WVLT News station last month, where he shared his story of jumping head-first into covering his favorite dinner spot’s rebirth. Armed with some cue cards, a camera and a can-do attitude, Holston has been posting video updates to the Team Holston Facebook page.

“I feel happy. I feel very proud,” he said after cutting the ribbon Tuesday. He got a day out of school for it — and he even inspired his sister’s high school band to attend the opening.
