KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department asked for information in the continuing investigation of a 17-year-old shot and killed three years ago.
On September 2, 2022, around 4:30 p.m., Amilcar Martinez was a passenger in a Ford Edge traveling West on Washington Avenue. The SUV stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Winona Street when an unknown vehicle pulled behind them and opened fire, according to an investigation by homicide detectives.

“Detectives are continuing to pursue active leads, but as of today, no suspects have been arrested or charged,” KPD said on the third anniversary of Martinez’s murder.
