KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Thousands in East Tennessee were left without power Thursday as severe storms moved through the region.
The outages were reported as a storm prompted a tornado warning for part of the area between 12:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Parts of Knox County also saw quarter-sized hail.

Around 2:15 p.m., the Knoxville Utilities Board reported that its crews were working to restore power to thousands of customers who were without power, primarily in the southeastern portion of their coverage area.
As of 5:30 p.m., the number of KUB customers without power was more than 4,600. Customers were encouraged to confirm outages and sign up for outage notifications through KUB’s mobile app or at kub.org…
