Public meeting on Chilhowee Park proposal set, plans detailed on city website

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon and city staff will soon host a public meeting about the proposal to sell 13 acres of city-owned land in Chilhowee Park ahead of a final city council vote at the end of the month.

The public meeting will take place on Monday, September 15 at the Dr. E.V. Davidson Community Center gymnasium located 3124 Wilson Ave. It will take place from 6- 7:30 p.m.

A webpage has also been established on the city’s website that provides extensive details about the proposal to sell the land to Emerald Youth Foundation and the impact on the Tennessee Valley Fair. It also outlines the vision for the park created in the 2019 Chilhowee Park Strategic Plan as well as other city efforts to enhance its green spaces and amenities.
