KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – With the enactment of a new Tennessee law, school systems in East Tennessee are preparing to teach gun safety in the classroom.

The law went into effect this school year. It requires all children, even as young as kindergartners, to learn the basics of gun safety. WVLT News reached out to several school systems in the area to see how they’re preparing; we’ve heard back from Knox County Schools, Maryville City Schools and Sevier County Schools.
