Clinton Police said the crash in the 100 block of Clinch Avenue happened on May 31, 2025. The department alleged that Jenkins, traveling northbound, crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle head-on. During their investigation, officers reportedly determined that Jenkins was intoxicated, distracted by a cell phone, and had an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, Clinton Police said.

On Thursday, Jenkins turned himself in at the Anderson County Detention Facility, where he was formally booked on the charges. He has since been released on bond.
