Knoxville, TN – Laurel Cox, a freshman at the University of Tennessee’s Herbert College of Agriculture, just earned a $30,000 scholarship—and a whole lot of pride back home in Middle Tennessee.
Cox, who hails from Bell Buckle, was named the winner of Durango Boots’ second annual National Day of the Cowgirl Award. The scholarship, awarded in partnership with the Dude Ranch Foundation, honors one first-year college student who embodies the grit, grace, and heart of the American cowgirl.
“I was shocked and humbled,” Cox said. “Durango saw something special in me, and I’m so grateful. This scholarship lifts the financial burden and lets me focus fully on my education and future.”…
