Knoxville man charged after officers find narcotics, firearms during parole check

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man is facing charges after Knoxville Police officers were called to help Tennessee Department of Correction personnel with a parole check that uncovered drugs and firearms Thursday.

According to Knoxville Police, officers responded to a home in the 3600 block of Boyds Bride Pike Thursday morning. Court records state that around 9 a.m., a TDOC officer told KPD that they saw a gun case in the bedroom of a man who was on parole, as well as a safe in his kitchen.

A General Sessions Docket explains that during the search of the home, TDOC officers found a handgun, a rifle, assorted firearm attachments, ammunition, and narcotics consistent with marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine. Additionally, the search also revealed various items officers believe suggest the man, identified as Terrance Odom, 45, may have been engaged in the sale of narcotics, the docket stated.

The document continues to state that in total, officers seized 22 grams of suspected marijuana, .06 grams of suspected cocaine, and 8.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, the firearms, ammunition, and more than $2,500 in cash.

Odom is facing drug and firearm charges. He was arrested and taken to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility. He was scheduled to appear in court Friday morning for a bond hearing.
