Oak Ridge Police Dept. launches internal investigation into 2024 traffic stop

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Oak Ridge Police Department has begun an internal investigation after video from a 2024 traffic stop began circulating online.

Police Chief Robin Smith said Tuesday in a social media post that the department is aware of videos on social media that “show an officer taking a photo of a woman during a traffic stop and making comments to two other officers on scene about sending it to a supervisor.”
