Community invited to join ‘Clinton 12’ member Bobby Cain’s ‘Last Walk’

CLINTON, Tenn. (WATE) — Following Clinton 12 member Bobby Cain’s death earlier this week, details have been announced for a public viewing where the community can pay their respects. Additionally, the community has been invited to join in Cain’s “Last Walk,” which will mirror the path he took on August 27, 1956.

On Saturday, Green McAdoo Cultural Center President Adam Velk told 6 News that Cain’s family would be holding a public viewing for family members and the community to pay their respects on October 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be held at the First Baptist Church in Clinton, with community members including Velk, Clinton Mayor Scott Burton, Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank and Jerry Shattuck, will share words about Bobby Cain and his lasting legacy between noon and 1 p.m.

Following the viewing’s conclusion, Cain’s “Last Walk” will be taking place. Community members are invited to take part in the event that will start at the Green McAdoo Cultural Center, but should arrive early as the walk will begin promptly at 5:30.

From the Green McAdoo Cultural Center, the walk will go down Foley Hill to Clinton Middle School, mirroring the walk Cain and the other members of the Clinton 12 made in 1956…
