A somber update from the Knoxville Police Department (KPD), after a deadly vehicular incident unfolded on the eve of the past Friday. According to posts from local outlets such as WVLT, WATE, and WBIR, the KPD is actively investigating the head-on crash that tragically claimed a life, the collision taking place on Western Avenue near Sullivan Road.
The incident occurred just after 6 p.m., when a vehicle deviated from its designated lane, crossing the center turn lane into oncoming traffic, culminating in a catastrophic collision with a second vehicle. The driver of the errant vehicle, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.
