KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knoxville City Council has chosen to withdraw the vote of the sale of part of Chilhowee Park to the Emerald Youth Foundation.
In their meeting Tuesday, people both for and against the sale of the part of the park gathered in anticipation of the vote. For some, the withdraw was celebrated.

“This would have been the beginning of urban renewal had this happened today,” said Vivian Shipe from I Am The Voice of the Voiceless. “The fact that it did not happen and that the city council voted in favor with the people wanted, is a victory not only for this generation, but for generations to come.”
