KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — As the federal government shutdown continues, some Tennesseans who rely on Affordable Care Act subsidies are worried their health insurance could be at risk.
For Nashville resident Janet Pollock, health coverage through Oscar Health currently costs just $8 a month, a rate made possible by federal subsidies through the Affordable Care Act.
“I am currently on Oscar, which I paid $8 a month for,” Pollock said. “Eight dollars, fifty dollars, it seems so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. But fifty dollars literally pays my water bill.”…
