KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man faces charges after shots were fired after an argument in a bar parking lot, court records said.
A woman told law enforcement she was leaving BucketHead Tavern on Ray Mears Boulevard Sunday morning with her boyfriend when she saw several people in a truck staring at her boyfriend’s expensive car, a warrant said. One of these people was later identified as Austin Wayne Ford, 27, according to court records. The truck pulled in front of the boyfriend’s car, blocking the couple in, the girlfriend said.

According to the warrant, the couple got out and began arguing with Ford and a woman in the truck, with the two women briefly fighting while the boyfriend tried to break them up. Ford then pulled a rifle, court records said. The boyfriend said that Ford pointed the gun at him and his girlfriend, but the girlfriend didn’t remember him pointing it at her directly, although she was worried Ford would shoot them, records said.
